Abstract

This paper illustrates potentials of linguistic cases of doubt for grammar education. A discussion of the cases of punctuation and prepositional case government in German language gives evidence that integrating examples of cases of doubt in schools’ curricula motivates students to reflect on their own language use and potentially brings up a deeper understanding of grammar, grammatical variation and grammatical change.
