In the following article the concept of a new software-package, PRO TEXT, which is being developped [sic!] at the University of Heidelberg will be outlined, and applications in the field of lexicography will be demonstrated by examples. PRO TEXT is designed as an instrument of analysis for the humanities. It is based on the principles of a tool-box, and it will offer various tools which can be combined by the user according to individual requirements. As fundamentals of the development of this package there will be described:
1. considerations on the methodical state of textual analysis,
2. a proposal of a general method for the description of different kinds of textual analysis,
3. the system-architecture of PRO-TEXT, and
4. an outline of possible applications in the field of lexicography. |
