The article deals with the significant differences between the print version and the electronic version of the DGWDS. Since the dictionary entries and the additional texts of the DGWDS have not been changed during the hypertextual processing, the article is concentrated on the presentation of the DGWDS on the screen inclusive of the guidance of the users and the efficiency of the options of search for dictionary data. It will be turned out, that the DGWDS does not deal with the possibilities opened up by the electronic medium in a really useful way. On the second hand the electronic version is too close to the conditions of the print edition; on the other hand it allows the users too great liberty in moving through the dictionary to guarantee efficient consultation acts. |
