Abstract: This paper gives an overview of the activities of Infoterm and TermNET in the field of computer application to terminology work. Especially TermNet programmes two and three are dedicated to this task. In preperation of an international cooperation of producers and users of terminological data, conferences were convened by Infoterm and studies carried out. It has become an inevitable necessity to record terminological data in machine readable form and process them by computer. The management of the terminological data flow by electronic means requires international guidelines and standards and an intensive collaboration of all parties concerned.
