This article treats the periodization of Greek and the embedding of dictionaries within that framework. After an overview of the only dictionary treating the whole history of Greek (Mega Lexicon) the dictionaries of early Byzantine Greek (330–610) and the dictionaries of medieval Byzantine Greek (610–1453) are discussed. A short regard is turned towards electronic devices. |
