Abstract:	This paper describes an online database system for maintaining the dictionary files in the JMdict (Japanese-Multilingual Dictionary) project (Breen: 2004). The system and database have been designed with the goals of (a) fully supporting the complex microstructure of Japanese dictionary entries; (b) providing a relatively simple and flexible user interface; and (c) enabling open access to dictionary users and contributors.
