Abstract: The article focuses on the question to what extent products of non-scientific (semi) collaborative Internet lexicography follow the professional and the quality requirements of scientific lexicography and on the role the concept of lexicographical responsibility. The research is based on fundamental thoughts of Wiegand (1997) on the subject and on the forms of responsibility in lexicographical processes as well as on implementation, results and impact of activities of lexicographers who bear undeniable social responsibility. The research outlines that lexicographers are responsible for the quality of lexicographical products in the half-collaborative nonscientific Internet lexicography. This is based on selected examples from the (semi) collaborative practice in the compilation of on-line general bilingual dictionaries of the PONS publishing house. The research emphasizes the need for more contemporary dictionary didactics which future competent and responsible collaboratively users need.
