Abstract: In this paper, we deal with different aspects of Spanish pronominal verbs, which can be classified in various types that are often confused and mixed up in real usage. The question is considered a major linguistic problem because this particle has equivalences in the rest of the Romance languages, in spite of their differences. In particular, we will discuss the way in which 'se' can be analysed from a corpus-driven approach for lexicographical use, and for this purpose we chose CPA (Hanks, 2004a) as a model of analysis. Our aim is to raise the question of whether CPA is an appropriate model to deal with pronominal verbs and if it is useful to represent them in a dictionary of Spanish as a foreign language. Finally, we also formulate a lexicographical proposal to represent this kind of constructions in the verb entries of a learner's dictionary.
