Abstract

The paper presents word length data in German press texts with word length being based on the number of morphs. It can be shown that they follow the positive Cohen-negative binomial dis­tribution (cf. Wimmer & Altmann 1999). In addition an excursus deals with the relation of the number of morphs and syllables in words.
