Abstract

This volume includes articles on linguistic and literary topics, inspired by the wide scholarly interests of Lavinia Merlini Barbaresi, ranging from theoretical linguistics, to pragmatics, text linguistics, literary translation, discourse analysis, morphology. An underlying principle unifies them - namely, the intricacy of threads in the complex fabric of language and text, a theme that Professor Merlini Barbaresi has herself perused from different angles in her research. The papers are distributed in three sections, each section featuring contributions from outstanding and internationally famed scholars both in linguistics and in literature.
